Zoumana Dembele is a griot - a master of West African traditional music and a successor to a tradition passed down from generation to generation. Dembele has numerous apprentices in his native Burkina Faso and across Europe. One of them is Aakusti Oksanen from Helsinki, with whom Dembele is currently on his annual visit. June 2012.
