Next we stop at and clarify what has just happened (putting it into words provides a mirror for developing ideas).

Noticing the good and asking the right questions is the way forward:

Coaching starts before the first joint meeting by tuning the mindset.

For this we use either face-to-face meetings, initial questioning about the situation or activating questions

Creating a shared space happens during the first joint meeting, which brings leaders together intellectually, emotionally and experientially. 

Succesful encounter is important, because this way trust within the team can rise to a sufficient level. 

We are seizing this transformative moment. Now solution-focused coaching will become more involved in the process.

Experiments in everyday life are an important part of the growth process. They are implemented with low threshold, so that information about new ideas can be shared with the whole team.

Process of 3 - 9 months creates a positive force for change at different levels. The time between meetings will be used to deepen experiences and ideas and to experiment in everyday life. The knowledge gained from the experiments will be brought back into the common space, tested and discussed. The result is a new ways of working that generate again new perspectives. 1 - 2 days of coaching use music and rhythm to open up joint working in a meaningful way. The theme and the shared experience go beyond traditional training. The coaching reinforces the implementation of results at team and organisational level, in addition to the insights of individuals.

 

In 2-3,5 hours of coaching session the main focus is on building a common rhythm. My experiential learning method is so effective that results can be achieved in just one meeting. The session provides a good basis for exploring the growth, progress and change required for a common goal. Suitable eg. as part of a longer change process or training programme. 

This has been successfully applied in the Sitra/HAUS leadership programmes built by Renewers and Petri Virtanen among others.
